Abeid Amani Karume International Airport
Abeid Amani Karume International Airport is located 5 kilometers south of Zanzibar’s capital Zanzibar City on Unguja island. The airport code is recognized as ZNZ.
The airport was named after the first Zanzibar president Abeid Amani Karume in 2006. In previous years it was widely known as Kisauni or Zanzibar International Airport.
Majority of 18 airlines operating in the airport serves flights within Africa. International carriers are represented by flyDubai, Arkia Israel Airlines, Condor and others. Seasonal flights can be provided for passengers from Bologna, Frankfurt and Milan.
The airport has one existing terminal and asphalt runaway 3km long. In addition, there is an undergoing construction for second terminal which started in 2011.
