Guarulhos International Airport - São Paulo (GRU)
Guarulhos International Airport is one of largest airports in Brazil, located 25 miles from City Centre São Paulo.
Due to heavy growth of air traffic Brazilian Military Government decided to build a new airport on 6 June 1967 for military purposes but after few years it started being used for civil aviation purposes.
There are more than 100 international and domestic airlines operating at Guarulhos International Airport (e.g. Aerolíneas Argentinas, Air Canada, Air France, Avianca Brazil, British Airways, Air Europa, Emirates, Gol Transportes Aéreos, KLM, LAN Colombia, Passaredo Linhas Aéreas, TAM Airlines and Turkish Airlines).
The airport has two runways and 4 terminals which are facilitated with 60 boarding gates, VIP Lounges and many other facilities. The most accessible hotels seem to be the "Matiz Guarulhos" and "Pullman" hotel, located around 1 mile from the airport.
Metro system is the best and fastest way to reach the airport. For those who prefer to avoid public transport taxis can be a solution.
