Riga International Airport was founded 10 kilometers to the west from Latvia’s capital Riga at the mouth of Daugava River. The code of airport is RIX.
The airport was built in 1973 near Skulte village in order to replace old Spilve airport and airport in Rumbula. It was awarded in 2005 in a category of airports serving from 1 to 5 million travelers per year.
